What is andropause ?
Andropause is a syndrome associated with a decrease in sexual satisfaction or a decline in a feeling of general well-being with low levels of testosterone in older men.
What are andropause symptoms ?
- mood swings and irritability.
- loss of muscle mass and reduced ability to exercise.
- fat redistribution, such as developing a large belly or “man boobs” (gynaecomastia)
- a general lack of enthusiasm or energy.
- difficulty sleeping (insomnia) or increased tiredness.
- poor concentration and short-term memory.
What are the treatment options?
There are several treatment options available for andropause. These include lifestyle modifications, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and prescription medications. Lifestyle modifications include eating healthy foods, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep.
What is the best treatment of andropause?
Replacing testosterone in the blood is the most common treatment for men going through andropause, but the risks and benefits of doing this should be considered before starting therapy. This treatment may provide relief from the symptoms and help improve the quality of life in many cases.
At JKM clinic we check testosterone level and related blood checks to provide the optimum treatment doses to our patients.
